Free Education
Education in North Korea is free of charge, compulsory until the secondary level, and is controlled by the government. The state also used to provide school uniforms free of charge until the early 1990s is actively applied in order to develop the independence and creativity of students. North Korea has an average literacy rate of 99%, the same as the US and Canada, making it one of the highest in the world.
